Week of 1/14/2013

Staff of the Week:

Theresa Brostowitz
I am a first year graduate student here at Seattle University pursuing my Master of Arts in Student Development Administration. I describe my program as "learning how to be a student of students". I work in Commuter and Transfer Student Life, just across the lobby from the Career Services Office, and I will be an intern as well here in Career Services winter and spring quarters. I am from lovely Portland, Oregon so I feel right at home in Seattle. My favorite things about Seattle University are all the gardens around campus and finding the secret bushes of blueberries, taking Zumba at the rec center, and how all the Seattle University staff care so much about the success and happiness of each and every student. My interest in career services stems from my passion to help others achieve their goals, so I hope you will come in for express advising or make an appointment and tell me more about yours!

Question & Answer:

“How do I make an appointment to meet with one of the advisors?”
Students are encouraged to utilize our Express-Advising hours which allows you to meet with an advisor for fifteen minutes without having to make an appointment prior to dropping in. However, if you are unable to make it to any of those hours due to class or work, you can fill out a special appointment request form found on our website here. We also offer Skype and phone appointments for alumni and students who cannot come to SU campus. Be sure to make a note of that in the request form if you would like to use one of these options! Also, please note that it may take up to 48 hours after the request is submitted for an advisor to contact you regarding your appointment.
If you have questions regarding appointments, please feel free to call our front desk at 206-296-6080.
